Consortium from Central-West Brazil wins R$2.32 billion concession in Minas Gerais

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Central-West Waste Management Consortium (Consórcio Centro-Oeste) has won the municipal solid waste concession project in Minas Gerais, with a proposed processing fee of R$2.68, equivalent to no discount on the reference price. The bidding took place at the B3 exchange in São Paulo (SP).

The consortium, composed of Viasolo Engenharia Ambiental S.A and Revita Engenharia S.A, won the project structured by Caixa Econômica Federal, with an estimated contract value of R$2.32 billion over the 30-year concession period. The project scope covers the transfer, transportation, treatment, and environmentally sound final disposal of municipal solid waste.

After the auction, Manoel Renato Machado Filho, Deputy Secretary for Social and Urban Infrastructure at the Special Secretariat for Investment Partnerships (SEPPI) under the Civil House (Casa Civil), stated that the project was developed jointly by the Civil House and the National Directorate for the Development of Government Special Service Partnerships (GEDEP) of Caixa Econômica Federal. He noted that the public sector needs to work together to find solutions, and that without mutual cooperation among the three levels of government, it will be difficult to resolve the complex issues that the public demands be addressed.
