en.Wedoany.com Reported - Following a record production year in 2025, MMG Limited (MMG) delivered another strong performance in the second quarter of 2026, setting the foundation for operations in the second half of the year. The Australia-based Chinese-owned mining company's total copper and zinc production for the quarter was broadly in line with the same period in 2025, with stronger precious metal prices and steady by-product output generating substantial by-product credits.

In terms of copper production, total copper output (including copper concentrate and cathode copper) for the second quarter stood at 137,843 tons. The Las Bambas mine contributed 109,192 tons of copper concentrate; the Kinsevere mine produced 16,980 tons of cathode copper, up 24% year-on-year, primarily driven by continued increases in sulphide ore processing volumes and higher mining activity at the Nambulwa satellite open pit; the Khoemacau mine produced 11,423 tons of copper concentrate, with output broadly in line with the same period last year, and the mine still holds further development potential.

In terms of zinc production, total zinc output was 55,538 tons, comparable to the same period in 2025. The Dugald River mine produced 46,082 tons of zinc concentrate, up 6% year-on-year, supported by higher ore throughput and zinc metallurgical recovery exceeding 90%. The Rosebery mine recorded zinc equivalent production of 33,618 tons, including 9,456 tons of zinc concentrate, down year-on-year, although increased silver and gold production offset the impact of lower zinc output.

MMG Chief Executive Officer Ivo Zhao stated that all operations continued to deliver steady production to meet annual production guidance. Another strong quarter at Las Bambas, continued production growth at Kinsevere, and stable year-on-year zinc production from Australian operations collectively underpinned this performance.
