en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 22, Copper Giant Resources announced the latest assay results from four drill holes at the Mocoa copper-molybdenum porphyry project in Putumayo Department, Colombia. Among them, infill drill hole MD-073 intersected 804 metres grading 0.56% copper equivalent from 150 metres, with copper grade of 0.31% and molybdenum grade of 0.048%; this includes a 103-metre high-grade interval grading 1.07% copper equivalent, which further includes 54 metres grading 1.20% copper equivalent. The company stated that the copper equivalent grade of this high-grade interval is more than twice the average grade of the existing mineral resource.

In addition, MD-067 intersected 165 metres grading 0.67% copper equivalent, including 13 metres grading 1.31% copper equivalent; its daughter hole MD-071 intersected 184 metres grading 0.62% copper equivalent, including 14 metres grading 1.15% copper equivalent. Mineralization remains open at the bottom of both MD-067 and MD-071, with MD-071 terminating at 708 metres, exceeding the depth range previously tested by historical vertical drill holes in the area.

MD-073 is the third directional daughter hole drilled from the MD-064 drill pad. The parent hole MD-064 on the same pad previously returned 1,206 metres of continuous mineralization grading 0.42% copper equivalent. To date, the pad has accumulated nearly 7,000 metres of drilling without any new roads or drill access tracks. Drilling has confirmed over 1,100 metres of vertical continuity in the Mocoa mineralized system.

Copper Giant is currently carrying out its 2026 drilling program of approximately 23,000 metres, which includes infill drilling of the existing resource area, resource extension drilling, and testing of new targets. The company's predictive target study completed in September identified 17 priority targets within an area of approximately 81 square kilometres, 13 of which lie outside the existing resource outline. A fourth drill rig has arrived at the project site, with testing of the previously undrilled western flank area planned to begin in October.

Mocoa currently has an inferred mineral resource of 1.12 billion tonnes at an average copper equivalent grade of 0.51%, containing approximately 7.7 billion pounds of copper and 1 billion pounds of molybdenum. The resource estimate is based on a technical report updated at the end of 2025. The company is concurrently preparing a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the project, scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026. The current drilling results will be used to improve the confidence of the geological model in the high-grade core zone and to continue testing the boundaries of the orebody.
