Regis extends the mineralized zone at the Rosemont underground gold mine in Australia 600 meters to the south

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 21, Australia's Regis Resources announced the latest drilling results from the Rosemont underground gold mine in Western Australia, where drilling has confirmed a new mineralized zone south of the existing Stage 3 resource area. This zone extends approximately 600 meters along strike, with mineralized quartz diorite approximately 20 to 30 meters thick. The spacing between completed drill holes remains relatively wide, and the company is carrying out infill diamond drilling to connect the new mineralized area with the existing Stage 3 resource area.

The latest drilling results include: 1.6 meters at 8.8 g/t gold from 712.4 meters; 3.3 meters at 3.7 g/t gold from 690 meters; and 3.4 meters at 2.4 g/t gold from 734 meters. All of the above mineralized widths are downhole drill hole widths, and Regis estimates that their true thickness is approximately 66% to 100% of the drill hole intersection width. The company's follow-up drilling will continue to test the full length, thickness, and continuity of the new mineralized zone.

Rosemont is part of Regis's wholly owned Duketon gold mining operation, which currently carries out both open-pit and underground mine development. The Rosemont underground mine began production in 2019, with current underground ore production capacity of approximately 600,000 tonnes per year, using mechanized open stoping. The associated Rosemont processing plant has a nominal capacity of approximately 2.5 million tonnes per year.

Regis launched the Stage 3 expansion of the Rosemont South underground mine in fiscal year 2024. The mining inventory initially defined for Stage 3 was 1.7 million tonnes at an average gold grade of 2.8 g/t, containing 157,000 ounces of gold, including 490,000 tonnes of probable ore reserves at an average gold grade of 2.6 g/t, containing 41,000 ounces of gold. This stage plans for underground ore mining capacity of up to approximately 600,000 tonnes per year, with a steady-state annualized gold production target of 40,000 to 50,000 ounces.

The Stage 3 development area is located south of the existing Rosemont South underground mining area, and early drilling has confirmed that the mineralized quartz diorite continues to extend beyond the planned stope area. Regis previously obtained drilling results outside Stage 3 including 8.3 meters at 2.7 g/t gold, 3.2 meters at 15.3 g/t gold, and 8.9 meters at 5.1 g/t gold. This round of work has further advanced the confirmed mineralized system approximately 600 meters south beyond the existing resource envelope.

Regis is currently carrying out infill drilling in the new mineralized section at Rosemont, and the relevant results will be incorporated into the next comprehensive exploration update for the Duketon, Tropicana, and McPhillamys projects. The company plans to announce this batch of exploration progress in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027.
