Wedoany.com Report-Jun 7, Softil, a global leader in mission-critical communications (MCX) technology, has entered into a cooperation agreement with Mocotec, a German specialist in private and public TETRA and LTE/4G/5G networks. The partnership aims to enhance the communication capabilities of Germany’s public safety agencies, ensuring higher productivity and more reliable responses during emergencies and disaster scenarios.

Mocotec’s CEO, Martin Schick, stated that the collaboration will help bring the benefits of 5G and, potentially, 6G mobile communications to public safety operations across Germany. The goal is to promote the development of secure and high-availability broadband communication solutions that are accessible nationwide, supporting emergency responders in their daily responsibilities.

As part of the agreement, Mocotec will integrate Softil’s BEEHD MCX enabling technology, which is widely used in mission-critical devices and equipment globally. Pierre Hagendorf, CEO of Softil, emphasized the significance of the partnership: “This agreement with Mocotec will be instrumental in advancing one of Europe’s largest economies in the MCX revolution.”

Mocotec recently secured a grant from Germany’s Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS). The grant, part of the KoPa_45 program, supports the development of innovative solutions for the country’s emerging MCX network. The KoPa_45 initiative is designed to meet evolving public safety communication needs through targeted technological innovation.

With the support of the BDBOS grant, Mocotec is working on tools that will allow fast verification of service quality and performance in MCX devices and equipment. These tools will also aid in assessing interoperability between various MCX terminals based on open 3GPP standards, which are central to the global advancement of mobile communications technology.

To accelerate development and control costs, Mocotec has licensed Softil’s BEEHD technology, which will be used to create the tools as part of Mocotec’s existing Dispatch product line. This new development will not only bring MCX functionality to all components of the Dispatch system but will also incorporate features for service validation, quality assurance, and performance measurement.

The partnership between Softil and Mocotec marks a significant step in strengthening Germany’s public safety communication infrastructure. By leveraging advanced mobile technologies, the project aims to deliver scalable and future-ready solutions that improve the efficiency and interoperability of mission-critical networks used by emergency services throughout the country.
