en.Wedoany.com Reported - DP World has signed an agreement with GulfCap Africa to develop a 222-hectare industrial and logistics park near the Port of Mombasa in Kenya, expanding its East African operations and strengthening regional trade infrastructure.

The park, named the Mombasa Industrial Park Special Economic Zone, is located less than 20 kilometers from Kenya's main seaport and will be developed in phases to serve manufacturers, logistics providers, and regional distribution businesses.

DP World stated that the project concentrates industrial, warehousing, and logistics infrastructure at a strategic location near one of Africa's busiest ports, aiming to enhance regional supply chain efficiency.

The company also noted that the project will support Kenya's plans to strengthen its position as a regional trade and logistics hub, serving East and Central African markets, including landlocked markets that rely on the Port of Mombasa.

Group Chief Executive Officer Yuvraj Narayan said the development reflects the company's strategy of investing in integrated logistics ecosystems to facilitate trade and improve supply chain efficiency.

Mohammed Akoojee, Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for Africa, pointed out that the project will create an environment for manufacturers, logistics companies, and service providers to operate closer to critical transport infrastructure, thereby improving connectivity and supporting economic growth.

The Mombasa Industrial Park is part of DP World's broader expansion strategy in Africa, as the company continues to invest in ports, inland logistics, economic zones, and digital trade infrastructure.
