en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazil's Suape Port Industrial Complex (Complexo Industrial Portuário de Suape) has obtained a renewal of its national security certification from the country's National Commission for Public Security in Ports, Terminals, and Navigable Waterways (Conportos), extending its compliance validity under the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) by five years. The complex is located in the state of Pernambuco (PE).

This certification renewal reflects Suape Port's continued investment in technological and intelligent measures to strengthen operational security, including the modernization of access control systems, electronic surveillance supported by 322 high-definition cameras, updates to user identification and registration mechanisms, and revisions to regulations governing the entry and exit of personnel and vehicles.

Suape Port's CEO, Armando Monteiro Bisneto, stated that the certification result demonstrates the port's compliance with the highest international port security standards, an achievement made possible through sustained investment in technology, intelligence, team training, and process improvements to safeguard people, cargo, infrastructure, and operations.

This certification renewal comes during a phase of business expansion for the port. In the first half of 2026, Suape Port handled 13.7 million tons of cargo, a 25.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025; vessel calls reached 832, up 14.3% year-on-year.

The Director of Port Development and Port Management, José Constantino, noted that continuous improvements to access control, surveillance, and operational management systems have enhanced operational reliability and boosted confidence among shipowners, logistics operators, investors, employees, and other parties using the Organized Port (Porto Organizado).
