GS25 Establishes Designated Banana Farm in Vietnam, Supplying Over 200,000 Bags Monthly

On August 10, GS25 announced that it will operate the Del Monte banana farm in the Tay Ninh region, approximately 50 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, as a designated farm. The farm's sorting and packaging system is tailored to the convenience store sales environment and has been optimized for the production of small-packaged items.

The core of operating the designated farm lies in introducing a process of individual packaging completed locally. Previously, products were supplied in boxes and repackaged by stores upon receipt; now, individually packaged products are imported directly from the local site, allowing each store to order by the piece based on sales volume.

This change in supply method directly enhances the operational efficiency of franchise stores. Stores order only the quantities they need, reducing inventory pressure, and the distribution efficiency between logistics centers and stores has also improved.

The main product from this designated farm is the "Del Monte Fresh Week Banana (3-5 pack)." Through this partnership, GS25 has laid the foundation for a steady monthly supply of over 200,000 bags of uniformly quality bananas.

Hong Hyun-ho, a merchandiser (MD) in the agricultural products team at GS Retail, stated that the company will expand strategic cooperation with production regions to provide high-quality fresh food at reasonable prices and continuously strengthen its competitiveness in fresh food.
