en.Wedoany.com Reported - ENGIE Vianeo is advancing the expansion of a fast-charging network for battery-electric trucks in Germany. The charging infrastructure provider plans to build new heavy-duty commercial vehicle charging stations at two Euro Rastpark service areas along the A2 and A9 motorways. The facilities will be integrated into the European TEN-T transport network to support electric road freight.

The two sites are located at Lippetal/Hamm on the A2 motorway and Pfaffenhofen/Schweitenkirchen on the A9 motorway. The former lies on the east-west freight corridor connecting the Ruhr region with Berlin, while the latter is situated on a key north-south axis leading to Munich, Austria, and northern Italy.

At Euro Rastpark Lippetal/Hamm, six charging points with an individual output of 400 kW will be built by mid-2027. In addition, two charging points using the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) are planned, with a charging capacity of up to one megawatt. The configuration of this station is primarily aimed at long-haul fleets that depend on short charging times.

At the Pfaffenhofen/Schweitenkirchen site, six fast-charging points with an output of 400 kW each are expected to become operational in early 2027. This service area is one of the most frequently used stops for long-distance traffic in southern Germany.

In terms of project implementation, ENGIE Vianeo is responsible for the planning, financing, construction, and operation of the charging infrastructure, while Euro Rastpark provides the site and benefits from additional services for customers as well as long-term revenue from site development. This division of roles is intended to accelerate the expansion of charging infrastructure while sparing service area operators from having to bear high investment costs themselves.
