en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 10, the commissioning ceremony for a new substation was held at the San Miguel de Allende Enterprise Park in Mexico. The project, with an investment of approximately US$50 million and a transformation capacity of 100 MVA, was jointly promoted by the private sector, Mexico's National Financial Development Bank, and the Federal Electricity Commission, providing power access conditions for enterprises in the park.
The new power facilities will be used to meet the production needs of manufacturing enterprises in the park. The park authorities also plan to leverage the existing power supply conditions to attract industrial projects with high electricity demand, such as data centers, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and industrial automation. The specific load and commissioning timeline of the projects to be connected have not yet been disclosed.
The park currently has 24 enterprises in operation, with another 6 in the construction or start-up phase, having attracted cumulative domestic and foreign private investment of over US$3.5 billion and generating approximately 8,000 direct jobs. In addition to the substation facilities, the park also features supporting infrastructure including water supply, wastewater treatment, natural gas, and fiber optics.
On the day the substation was commissioned, the state of Guanajuato released a new round of economic policies and announced 17 investment projects with a combined investment of US$2.558 billion, spanning industries such as automotive, mining, construction, data centers, and energy.
