en.Wedoany.com Reported - RES, the world's largest independent renewable energy company, has been awarded the "Safety from the System and Operational Control" contract for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm, owned by ScottishPower Renewables.

Located off the coast of Suffolk, England, the East Anglia TWO wind farm has a clean energy generation capacity of 960 megawatts (MW), with its green electricity output sufficient to power nearly one million homes.

"Safety from the System" is a foundational framework designed to ensure assets are safely isolated, risks are proactively managed, and personnel can work with confidence throughout the project's entire lifecycle.

Scheduled to commence in 2027, this contract builds on RES's existing work at East Anglia THREE, ScottishPower's largest wind farm, and its award reflects recognition of the RES team's capabilities, expertise, and continuity of approach.

To support the East Anglia TWO contract, RES plans to recruit a local team of 25 people from Lowestoft, Ipswich, and the surrounding areas, preserving specialist high-voltage skills and jobs; RES has also stated it will prioritize UK suppliers and work with local subcontractors to retain value within the domestic supply chain.

Simon Deacon, RES's Regional Operations Director for Northern Europe and Global Offshore Wind Director, stated that winning the East Anglia TWO contract demonstrates that the company's approach to managing safety in complex high-voltage environments builds lasting trust, and that the team has delivered consistently on the East Anglia THREE project, looking forward to upholding the same standards and rigor when East Anglia TWO commences in 2027.

Michael Hotze, Project Delivery Director for East Anglia TWO at ScottishPower Renewables, welcomed RES to the project to help connect more homegrown clean electricity to the grid; as a UK supply chain partner, this contract once again reflects the project's dual support for a clean energy future and economic growth, and he looks forward to building on the collaborative foundation established at East Anglia THREE.
