Japan Gold Completes Geophysical Survey at Mizobe Gold Project in Japan

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 11, Japan Gold, a Canadian mineral exploration company, announced the completion of a 21.3 line-kilometer controlled-source audio-frequency magnetotelluric (CSAMT) and audio-frequency magnetotelluric (AMT) geophysical survey at the Mizobe Gold Project in Kyushu, Japan.

The survey yielded subsurface resistivity imaging data for the project area. Japan Gold has integrated the survey results with gravity and magnetic inversion models, structural interpretation, and drilling data from 2023 and 2025 to update the three-dimensional geological model of the Mizobe Project.

The updated model has further identified geological structures beneath the volcanic cover, hydrothermal fluid pathways, and potential gold mineralization zones. The company will use these findings to refine existing target areas, screen new priority drilling targets, and prepare a drilling plan covering multiple targets.

The Mizobe Project is located in the Hokusatsu region of southern Kyushu, Japan, approximately 23 kilometers from the Hishikari Gold Mine operated by Sumitomo Metal Mining. The Hishikari Gold Mine produced approximately 8.76 million ounces of gold cumulatively from 1985 to 2025, with a historical average grade exceeding 20 grams per tonne.

Japan Gold has previously completed approximately 3,496 meters of drilling at the Mizobe Project. In 2023, drill hole MZDD23-003 intersected 10 meters of mineralization at a depth of 122.75 meters, with an average gold grade of 4.27 grams per tonne. Drilling in 2025 further identified banded chalcedony veins and hydrothermal alteration zones.
