HEA Energy Acquires Two Jack-Up Vessels from Semco Maritime

en.Wedoany.com Reported - HEA Energy has completed the acquisition of the jack-up vessels Thor and Wind Lift 1 from Semco Maritime, marking the start of a long-term partnership between the two companies. The two companies stated that the acquisition, together with long-term charter agreements ensuring Semco Maritime's continued access to vessel resources, establishes a platform for major component exchange (MCE) and major component overhaul (MCO) services in the European offshore wind market.

The collaboration combines Semco Maritime's technical expertise in offshore wind services with HEA Energy's more than 40 years of maritime experience and access to a scalable offshore operations platform. Thomas Thomsen, Senior Vice President of Renewables at Semco Maritime, stated that the long-term partnership combines Semco Maritime's capabilities in major component exchange and overhaul with HEA Energy's vessels and maritime capabilities, enhancing customer flexibility and supporting the continued growth of European offshore wind.

The partnership is supported by Semco Maritime's dedicated overhaul facility in Emden, Germany. Equipped with a 450-tonne gantry crane and direct access to the North Sea, the facility serves as a strategic hub for the refurbishment, overhaul, and logistics of major wind turbine components, supporting both existing and future offshore wind projects.

Jonas Munch Agerskov, CEO of HEA Energy Europe, stated that the acquisition of Thor and Wind Lift 1, along with the long-term charter agreements, marks the beginning of a long-term partnership. Combining Semco Maritime's technical capabilities, customer relationships, and Emden infrastructure with HEA Energy's maritime platform lays the foundation for future growth and the expansion of its European offshore wind business footprint.

With a growing project pipeline from leading offshore wind developers such as Ørsted, RWE, and Equinor, the partnership is well positioned to capture long-term growth opportunities.
