Iberdrola bp opens over 500 charging points to Electromaps in Portugal

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Iberdrola | bp pulse and electric vehicle charging service provider Electromaps today announced a partnership, enabling users in Portugal to locate, start, and directly pay for fast and ultra-fast charging points operated by Iberdrola | bp pulse in the country through the Electromaps app.

Under this agreement, Iberdrola | bp pulse becomes the first operator in Portugal to integrate its charging network into Electromaps, further enhancing interoperability between the two platforms.

Currently, Iberdrola | bp pulse operates more than 500 fast and ultra-fast charging points in Portugal and over 2,500 charging points across the Iberian Peninsula, with individual chargers delivering up to 600 kW.

The partnership aims to facilitate cross-border travel between Portugal and Spain, allowing tourists, professional fleets, and private drivers to manage their charging needs along the way via the Electromaps app or the Electropass card.

Ricardo Pacheco, Country Manager for Iberdrola | bp pulse in Portugal, stated in the announcement that this collaboration helps accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility, bringing the ultra-fast charging network increasingly closer to users. He also highlighted the quality, available power, and reliability of the company's charging points.

Xavier Cañadell, CEO of Electromaps, said in the same statement that the Iberdrola | bp pulse charging network is now accessible through the app, and that this partnership will expand coverage and simplify the lives of electric vehicle owners.

Iberdrola | bp pulse is the result of a 50-50 strategic alliance between Iberdrola and bp pulse, responsible for developing a high-power public charging network in Spain and Portugal. Electromaps, headquartered in Barcelona and part of the Wallbox Group, provides charging point information and allows users to locate, start, and pay for charging services via a mobile app or RFID device.
