GKN Aerospace invests $16 million to expand New Hampshire facility, tripling plant floor space

The expansion will add approximately 57,000 square feet (about 5,295 square meters) of production space, tripling the existing plant floor area.

At the core of the expansion is the introduction of a dedicated production cell for manufacturing high-performancecompressor blades and vanes. Against the backdrop of growing market demand for compressor blades and vanes and constrained industry capacity, this initiative aims to meet the increasing needs of global customers for complex aircraft engine components.

GKN Aerospace stated that the expanded facility will be able to support both existing production and the requirements of future new engine platforms. The company is also strategicallyinsourcing key manufacturing processes to enhance production flexibility.

The expansion will also createstrong operational synergies with GKN Aerospace's facility in Muncie, Indiana—combining Muncie's advanced forging capabilities with North Charlestown's precision machining expertise to deliver integrated solutions for critical engine components to customers. The expansion project is expected to create new technical jobs in the region.
