en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dutch investment firm 819 Capital Partners recently announced the completion of its acquisition of BEDROCK 3D, a Dutch professional 3D printing filament manufacturer. BEDROCK 3D will join 819 Capital Partners' Novio-Scan Holding, becoming the group's second operating company.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Emmen, the Netherlands, BEDROCK 3D focuses on the research, development, and production of professional-grade 3D printing filaments. The company's product portfolio covers a range of high-performance polymer filaments, with practical applications in medical devices, engineering prototypes, and low-volume manufacturing. Prior to this acquisition, BEDROCK 3D was a BASF-affiliated company before spinning off from BASF.

Novio-Scan Holding is the holding platform through which 819 Capital Partners consolidates 3D printing companies. Another company under the group, Insolution, specializes in the podiatry 3D printing sector, offering podiatrists 3D printing solutions for custom orthotic insoles, with its business encompassing 3D scanners, proprietary software, 3D printers, and supporting materials. Insolution employs both traditional milling processes and its own proprietary 3D printing technology.

The addition of BEDROCK 3D fills a gap in Novio-Scan's in-house capabilities in material research, development, and production. The group has thus established a closed loop spanning materials, hardware, and software—from filaments to equipment and from software to end-use applications. In additive manufacturing, key performance attributes such as strength, elasticity, temperature resistance, and printability are largely determined by the type and formulation of the polymers used. By integrating material and equipment capabilities, the group can cover the entire value chain, from raw materials and digital process control to finished parts.

819 Capital Partners stated that this acquisition is a natural extension of its core logic centered on "mutually reinforcing technologies." In the short term, it will drive business growth at BEDROCK 3D while continuing to seek complementary technologies and companies in the 3D printing market that can be integrated into the group. The group's strategy follows a vertically integrated "Buy-and-Build" model—bringing together specialized companies in materials, machinery, software, and applications under a single holding platform.
