ALL.SPACE Secures U.S. DIU Agreement for Satellite Communication Terminal Manufacturing at Scale
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 31, ALL.SPACE was awarded an Other Transaction (OT) agreement by the U.S. Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to participate in the Adaptive Space Manufacturing and Integration at Scale (10ⁿ) project. Under the agreement, ALL.SPACE will leverage its Hydra satellite communication terminals as the foundation to conduct production-scale validation for multi-orbit satellite communication equipment. The contract value has not been disclosed.
The 10ⁿ project primarily addresses production rate and capacity challenges in the U.S. space supply chain, introducing dual-use commercial manufacturing technologies to produce space hardware that meets flight qualification requirements. Under the project, ALL.SPACE will adopt manufacturing approaches such as rapid integration, automated testing, and streamlined qualification, while participating in an iterative "design–manufacture–test–verify/qualify" process. The manufacturing validation objectives set by the project include achieving on-demand production capability, with production volumes reaching hundreds of units per month and thousands per year.
The Hydra series covered by this agreement employs electronically scanned antennas capable of simultaneously accessing different satellite networks and orbits. ALL.SPACE has previously delivered Hydra 2 and Hydra 4 terminals to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. The Hydra 2 supports simultaneous dual Ka-band satellite connections, while the Hydra 4 can connect to four satellites at once, covering military and commercial Ka, Ku, and L bands, and supporting networks across LEO, MEO, GEO, and HEO orbits.
Regarding future products, ALL.SPACE's Hydra MAX has completed testing under the U.S. Army's Next Generation Tactical Terminal program and achieved Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL 6). During testing at Aberdeen Proving Ground, the terminal completed LEO/GEO and LEO/MEO multi-beam mobile communication validation. The Hydra MAX features a dual-beam full-duplex architecture, with 500 MHz instantaneous bandwidth per beam and up to 1 GHz combined across both beams, enabling simultaneous connections to multiple Ka-band satellite networks.
In June of this year, ALL.SPACE relocated its incorporation to the United States and selected the Florence–Muscle Shoals area of Alabama to establish its U.S. Technology and Manufacturing Center, supporting manufacturing, technology development, and related operations. In July, York Space Systems completed its acquisition of ALL.SPACE for a total transaction value of approximately $300 million, with ALL.SPACE now operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of York.
In August, Aalyria placed an order with ALL.SPACE for Hydra MAX terminals to support deployment of a U.S. government hybrid communications network, with the terminals to integrate Spacetime network orchestration software. This 10ⁿ agreement further shifts focus to production rate, automated testing, and batch qualification validation for Hydra products.
