Germany's Nordseecluster A Completes Installation of 22 Wind Turbines
en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Nordseecluster A offshore wind farm in the German North Sea has completed the installation of 22 wind turbines. The project, jointly developed by RWE and Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), has a total installed capacity of 1.6 gigawatts. Currently, DEME's wind turbine installation vessel "Norse Wind" is on site carrying out lifting operations for the remaining turbines, with the vessel capable of transporting and installing up to five Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines per voyage.

The wind farm is located approximately 50 kilometers north of the island of Juist in Germany and is planned to install 44 Vestas turbines. The installation vessel completed the first turbine lifting in June, and the following month Nordseecluster A delivered its first power to the German grid. All 44 turbines are expected to be installed by the end of 2026.
The Nordseecluster project is being built in two phases. The first phase, Nordseecluster A, has an installed capacity of 660 megawatts and is expected to achieve full grid connection in early 2027. The second phase, Nordseecluster B, will add 900 megawatts of installed capacity. RWE stated that foundation production for Nordseecluster B has already commenced, with installation planned to begin in 2027. The 60 Vestas turbines are scheduled for installation in 2028, with commercial operation expected to start in early 2029.
Once both phases are fully operational, the combined annual power generation of Nordseecluster A and B is expected to be approximately 6.5 terawatt-hours. RWE holds a 51% stake in the project and is responsible for construction and operation, while NBIM holds a 49% stake.
