(hereinafter referred to as "Luoyang Copper Processing")—completed trial production, yielding the first qualified magnesium alloy ingot. The success of this trial marks the full end-to-end process for magnesium sheet production at Luoyang Copper Processing, achieving a substantive breakthrough in key core technologies. Luoyang Copper Processing is now officially equipped with the capability for full-process trial manufacturing and scaled production of magnesium sheets, laying a solid foundation for expanding light-alloy new material businesses, extending the magnesium industry chain, and strengthening core market competitiveness.

Upholding the mission of "Where the nation has needs, Chinalco takes action," Luoyang Copper Processing launched this project in response to development demands in the national defense sector, addressing the shortcomings in the melting and casting processes of the magnesium sheet production line and achieving self-reliance and control in the development of magnesium alloy products for key fields.
Magnesium alloy melting and casting involves rigorous procedures and complex parameters, demanding exceptionally high standards in temperature control, forming quality, and safety management. To overcome these technical challenges, the aluminum-magnesium operations area at Luoyang Copper Processing established a dedicated task force, coordinating technical, operational, and maintenance resources for collaborative problem-solving. The team conducted repeated discussions on key process points and carried out multiple process simulation adjustments to finely optimize core parameters such as flow rate and casting speed. During the trial production phase, staff strictly followed standard operating procedures, monitored all data in real time, and rigorously controlled critical details at each step, ultimately producing stable, qualified ingots and successfully achieving the trial production goals.
