Three LNG Cargoes from Qatar and UAE Complete Ship-to-Ship Transfers Outside the Strait of Hormuz

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 2, vessel tracking data from Vortexa and Kpler showed that in August, three batches of liquefied natural gas (LNG) loaded in Qatar and the UAE completed ship-to-ship transfers outside the Strait of Hormuz, with two transfers taking place off the coast of Oman and one off the UAE's eastern coast. The cargoes involved LNG carriers including the GasLog Shanghai, Al Rekayyat, and Mraweh.

The GasLog Shanghai, controlled by GasLog, completed a ship-to-ship transfer with the GasLog Savannah off the coast of Oman in late August. The LNG carried by the GasLog Shanghai had previously been loaded at Qatar's Ras Laffan export terminal. On July 31, the vessel experienced an incident while departing the Strait of Hormuz with its cargo, and safely arrived at the anchorage off Khor Fakkan on the UAE's eastern coast on August 4. Both the GasLog Shanghai and the GasLog Savannah are controlled by GasLog.

The Al Rekayyat, controlled by QatarEnergy, completed a ship-to-ship transfer with the Tembek off the UAE's eastern coast in mid-August. The LNG cargo had been loaded at Ras Laffan and was subsequently transported onward by the Tembek, arriving at India's Dahej receiving terminal on August 31. The Al Rekayyat had been struck by a projectile near the Strait of Hormuz in early July.

The Mraweh, controlled by ADNOC, loaded LNG at Das Island in the UAE in early August and completed a ship-to-ship transfer with the LNG Enugu off the coast of Oman in mid-August. Following the transfer, the LNG Enugu sailed for Futtsu, Japan. BW Group and Marubeni jointly hold the LNG Enugu through a joint venture.
