en.Wedoany.com Reported - According to Baker Hughes' rig count data for the week ended September 4, North American drilling activity declined sequentially, with a combined 792 rotary rigs operating in the United States and Canada.

Canada saw a broad decline in rig counts across all categories this week, serving as the primary drag on the lower North American total. The country had 204 rigs operating, down 7 from the previous week. Among these, oil rigs totaled 140, down 4 week over week; natural gas rigs totaled 62, down 1; and there were 2 unclassified rigs, down 2 from the prior week.

The U.S. rig count remained flat week over week at 588, up 51 rigs from the same period last year. By breakdown, land rigs increased by 1 to 577, inland water rigs held steady at 3, and offshore rigs decreased by 1 to 8. By energy type, U.S. natural gas rigs fell by 2 this week to 130; oil rigs totaled 449, up 2 year over year; and unclassified rigs stood at 9, unchanged from the previous week.

Among key producing states, Louisiana and Pennsylvania each decreased by 1 rig this week, bringing their totals to 35 and 15, respectively; Texas and Colorado each added 1 rig, reaching 283 and 13, respectively.
