UAE's Oryx Kraft Mill to Build 180,000-Ton Containerboard Production Line

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 7, Oryx Kraft Mill Industries and Alliance International confirmed their collaboration to build a production line with an annual output of 180,000 tons of corrugated containerboard base paper. The project is located in the KEZAD Al Ma'mourah Industrial Zone in Abu Dhabi. The new production line features a paper machine with a wire width of 4,850 mm and a design speed of 1,000 meters per minute, with equipment delivery scheduled for mid-2027. Civil works and plant construction are currently underway.

Alliance International's scope of work covers engineering design, equipment supply, on-site installation, and commissioning supervision, as well as training for operators and maintenance personnel and subsequent technical services. This collaboration is not a mere paper machine procurement but a complete delivery of the production line covering "design-supply-installation-commissioning-training."

KEZAD had previously signed a project implementation agreement with Oryx Kraft Mill Industries. Project documents released by KEZAD show that Oryx will build paper product manufacturing facilities in Al Ma'mourah, with a project land area of approximately 107,300 square meters, where production and supporting activities will be carried out. This 180,000-ton containerboard base paper production line corresponds to the aforementioned manufacturing base now entering the equipment configuration and engineering construction stage.

The new production line will use waste paper as its primary raw material, with products targeting the corrugated packaging paper market. Oryx Kraft Mill's parent company, Paper Chase International, has long been engaged in waste paper recycling and trading, with recycling and baling facilities in the Middle East and Asia. Once the new paper machine is operational, its recovered paper supply system will form a raw material procurement and production linkage with the Abu Dhabi papermaking base.
