en.Wedoany.com Reported - Frozen food company Panabad has opened a new logistics center in Sant Quirze del Vallès, near Barcelona, to support its continuously growing business scale. The facility covers 2,500 square meters and deploys Mecalux's Easy WMS warehouse management system to manage over 200 SKUs of pre-baked frozen bread products, featuring a high-density storage solution.

Julián Martín, General Manager of Panabad, explained that the new logistics center was established due to the steadily rising business volume. The company currently processes more than 7,000 tons of flour annually, distributing products to over 2,000 customers. This growth trend prompted the company to seek a more organized logistics setup, more precise traceability control, and a more efficient product distribution model.

Within this logistics center, Easy WMS monitors all 200-plus SKUs. The system records every pallet received at the warehouse and automatically assigns storage locations based on product turnover and volume. To maximize storage capacity, Mecalux installed two high-density storage solutions with a total capacity exceeding 3,000 pallets.

The warehouse operates in an environment of minus 20 degrees Celsius, making the reduction of employees' time inside the facility a key design focus. Martín stated that each operator receives a picking route on an RF terminal to eliminate unnecessary movement; by following Easy WMS instructions, operators can complete orders faster while reducing their exposure time in the low-temperature environment.

With the launch of the new logistics center and the digitalization of its operations, Panabad has established a more organized operational model to continuously align with market demand.
