China Pinglu Canal Waterborne "One-Stop" Dispute Resolution Center Established
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 18, the 23rd China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit parallel forum "China-ASEAN Commercial Legal Forum 2026 China Arbitration Week Nanning Session" was held in Nanning, Guangxi, during which the Pinglu Canal Waterborne "One-Stop" Dispute Resolution Center was officially established. The center is led by the Guangxi Maritime Safety Administration and jointly built by 8 entities including the Autonomous Region Procuratorate, the Department of Justice, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Guangxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Greater Bay Area Arbitration Center of the China Maritime Arbitration Commission. Its primary service recipients are parties involved in maritime and commercial disputes arising during the navigation and operation of the Pinglu Canal.

The center will accept canal-related disputes involving waterborne traffic accidents, crew labor and wages, ship pollution, and cargo transport, and will connect procedures including mediation, judicial confirmation, litigation, labor arbitration, and commercial arbitration, forming a mechanism for dispute acceptance, coordinated mediation, effectiveness confirmation, and procedural referral. The China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit previously disclosed that the platform will also cover waterborne disputes such as ship collisions, cargo losses, and crew labor disputes.
The Pinglu Canal was completed and opened to navigation on September 16. As the canal enters its operational phase, the Guangxi maritime authorities have established this center focusing on matters such as waterborne traffic accidents, crew labor disputes, ship pollution, and personal injury compensation in shipping activities, enabling relevant disputes to enter a unified handling process through online and offline channels.
At the same event, the "Working Mechanism for Coordinated Resolution of Cross-Border Commercial Disputes in Service and Support of the High-Quality Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area" was also launched, jointly participated in by the Nanning Railway Transport Intermediate People's Court, the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court, the Guangxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Guangzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade, connecting cross-regional commercial dispute resolution channels such as mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
