NTPC Renewable Energy Corporation of India Launches 600MW Wind Turbine Procurement Tender

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 21, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of India's National Thermal Power Corporation, launched a tender for the procurement and installation of wind turbine generators for a 600MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power project in the Kurnool region of Andhra Pradesh. The project is planned to be equipped with 200 wind turbines. The tender number is NRE-CS-5925-003(WTG)-9. The tender documents have been available for sale since September 21, with a bid submission deadline of 15:00 on October 19, and technical and commercial bids scheduled to be opened at 15:30 on the same day.

The scope of work for this tender covers wind turbine design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, hoisting, installation, testing, and commissioning. The bid equipment must use models from the latest wind power ALMM list of India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, with a rated power per unit of no less than 3MW. The project also includes wind turbine control panels, SCADA systems and related control software, as well as the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the unit substation corresponding to each wind turbine.

In addition to the wind turbine units themselves, the contracting scope also includes electrical works required for grid connection, as well as related civil works such as tower foundations, unit substation foundations, and control cabins. After the project is put into operation, the winning bidder shall also be responsible for 10 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance services, including spare parts, consumables, equipment repair, and replacement of faulty components, and shall cooperate with statutory approvals and permits for power evacuation and grid connection, while also providing the specified mandatory spare parts.

The project has a total installed capacity of 600MW and is equipped with 200 wind turbines, corresponding to an average configured capacity of approximately 3MW per unit. According to NTPC's official tender information, the bid security is 500 million Indian rupees. Bidding enterprises must be wind turbine manufacturers, and their bid models must be included in the latest wind power ALMM list of India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy before the bid opening date, and the rated power of the model must not be less than 3MW. The financial conditions require that the bidder's average annual turnover in the most recent three fiscal years reach the level of "10.24 million rupees × reported capacity (MW)", with a calculation capacity cap of 645MW.

This Kurnool project and another Andhra Pradesh wind turbine procurement recently advanced by NTPC REL belong to different tenders. According to NTPC's tender archives, the company had previously issued a tender for another 600MW, 200-turbine ISTS wind power project in the Anantapur region of Andhra Pradesh, numbered NRE-CS-5924-003(WTG)-9. The Kurnool project, however, uses NRE-CS-5925-003(WTG)-9 to organize procurement separately.
