en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 28, Mining Zimbabwe, citing monthly economic review data from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), reported that Zimbabwe's cumulative gold export revenue from January to July 2026 was approximately US$3.357 billion. On a monthly basis, gold export revenue from January to July was approximately US$493 million, US$461 million, US$427 million, US$394 million, US$464 million, US$583 million, and US$534 million, respectively, with June being the highest level in the first seven months.

Gold export revenue in July was approximately US$534 million, down 8.5% from June, but still accounting for 36.3% of the country's total merchandise export value of US$1.4698 billion that month, continuing to hold its position as Zimbabwe's single largest export commodity. In the same month, other mineral products and platinum group metals accounted for approximately 21.7% and 15.9% of national exports, respectively.

Gold export revenue showed a trend of first declining and then rising during the year. In January, gold exports accounted for approximately 50.9% of national merchandise export revenue; revenue fell continuously from March to April, and RBZ linked part of the change to the impact of the rainy season on gold production as well as changes in international gold prices. Export revenue resumed growth from May, rising to approximately US$583 million in June, and although it declined somewhat in July, it remained above US$500 million.

Production also showed significant fluctuations. Data from Fidelity Gold Refinery show that gold deliveries reached 4,810 kilograms in June 2026, of which small-scale and artisanal miners contributed approximately 3,580 kilograms; official deliveries then fell to approximately 3,536 kilograms in July, a month-on-month decrease of 26.5%, with deliveries from small-scale miners declining even more. By August, national gold deliveries had rebounded to 5,119 kilograms.

Fidelity Gold Refinery is Zimbabwe's official gold purchasing, refining, and exporting agency, and can purchase gold from large mining companies and small-scale producers. In Zimbabwe's gold supply structure, small-scale and artisanal mining has long accounted for a relatively high proportion, so changes in their deliveries directly affect the scale of official gold supply.
