Germany's RobCo Valuation Surpasses $1 Billion, to Launch Dual-Arm Industrial Robot in 2027
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 5, German industrial robotics company RobCo completed an equity transaction involving new capital injection and the sale of existing shares by employees, with the company's valuation exceeding $1 billion, doubling from nine months ago. Existing investors Sequoia, Lightspeed, Greenfield, Kindred, Lingotto, and Promus Ventures continued to participate, while new investors include Cherry Ventures and European Tech Collective.

The transaction allowed some long-term employees to sell their shares while also bringing new capital into the company. RobCo did not disclose in its official announcement the total transaction amount or the respective proportions of new equity financing and secondary share transactions. The company completed a $100 million Series C funding round in January this year, co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Lingotto Innovation, to expand deployment with enterprise customers and accelerate U.S. market expansion.
Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Munich, RobCo primarily develops autonomous industrial robots and Physical AI systems for manufacturing. The company adopts an integrated hardware-software architecture that incorporates perception, motion planning, and self-learning capabilities into its robotic platform, enabling devices to acquire task-specific capabilities through teaching and autonomous learning.
The company's next core product is Alfie, a dual-arm autonomous industrial robot designed for manufacturing scenarios characterized by high variety, low volume, unstructured environments, and high safety requirements. RobCo plans to officially commercialize the product on March 4, 2027, at the inaugural RobCoN conference in Munich, with prototype units already operating at customer sites.
RobCo is simultaneously accelerating its U.S. market presence. The company currently conducts customer business in more than ten U.S. states, operates manufacturing and assembly operations in Austin, Texas, and maintains a laboratory in San Francisco. Co-founder and CEO Roman Hölzl has also relocated to the United States to oversee expansion. Approximately 70% of RobCo's business still comes from Europe.
After completing its Series C funding round in January this year, RobCo was valued at approximately $500 million; following this transaction, its valuation has risen to over $1 billion. The company has raised nearly $200 million in total funding to date, with capital continuing to be used for its industrial robotics platform, enterprise customer deployment, and expansion of U.S. production and sales networks.
