en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, Canadian engineering equipment manufacturer Enerflex announced that it has been awarded a large engineered systems contract to design, engineer, manufacture, and assemble low-emission natural gas power generation equipment with a total installed capacity exceeding 1,000 MW for a North American data center development project. The order is included in the company's Engineered Systems business, and the equipment adopts a behind-the-meter standalone power supply configuration. Including previously awarded contracts, Enerflex's total backlog for this type of gas power generation equipment has exceeded 1,750 MW, with related equipment deliveries scheduled through 2028.

This contract covers the design, engineering integration, equipment manufacturing, and final assembly of gas power generation units, with the related manufacturing tasks undertaken by Enerflex's production facilities in North America. The project addresses the on-site power supply needs of large data centers, utilizing behind-the-meter natural gas power generation equipment to provide electricity supply for data centers without relying on conventional grid connections.

On October 1, Enerflex announced another approximately 450 MW North American data center gas power generation equipment contract, which also includes design, engineering, manufacturing, and assembly, with equipment deliveries planned to begin in 2027 and be completed in 2028. The over 1,000 MW order announced on October 13 was contracted separately from the previous contract, together forming the company's backlog of over 1,750 MW in behind-the-meter gas power generation equipment.

Enerflex has approved approximately $100 million in investment in Engineered Systems production facilities and business capabilities, of which $15 million is included in the 2026 capital expenditure budget. The investment scope involves the expansion of existing production facilities and engineering manufacturing capabilities, with related business covering engineering design, modular manufacturing, and project execution of natural gas power generation systems.

Enerflex has also deployed the ReliaCore asset performance management system in its gas power generation equipment business, involving equipment operational data management and digital services. In its October 13 announcement, the company listed equipment commissioning, on-site installation, digital management, and subsequent maintenance as potential service business extensions of the existing orders.
