en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, satellite communication equipment manufacturer ALL.SPACE announced that the government business division of U.S. satellite communication company Viasat has ordered multiple second-generation Hydra MAX broadband satellite communication terminals. This model has been approved for access to Viasat's global NextGen Ka-band satellite network and is capable of simultaneously connecting to commercial and military satellite networks in different orbits, providing broadband communication services for government and defense users in land, maritime, and mobile command scenarios. This procurement represents an additional equipment order following the commercial availability of Hydra MAX.

Hydra MAX employs lens array digital beamforming technology and supports highly elliptical orbit (HEO), geostationary orbit (GEO), medium Earth orbit (MEO), and low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks. The device can simultaneously establish multiple independent Ka-band satellite links, with a single-beam instantaneous bandwidth of up to 500 MHz and a total aggregate bandwidth of 1 GHz. The terminal is also equipped with intelligent link management and policy-based traffic routing functions, enabling it to adjust communication paths based on available satellite links and supporting operation on mobile platforms such as vehicles and vessels.

The terminals involved in this procurement already possess the technical conditions to operate on the Viasat NextGen Ka-band network, utilizing the company's global satellite infrastructure and military Ka-band communication resources. The device adopts a network- and vendor-agnostic open architecture, enabling access to services provided by different satellite operators and maintaining communication connectivity through simultaneous multi-link operation. ALL.SPACE has also equipped this model with anti-jamming design and mobile communication capabilities to adapt to complex ground environments and maritime platform operation requirements.

The two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement in March 2026, planning to conduct system integration, testing, and certification of the Hydra series terminals and to integrate Viasat's next-generation LSDR modem into the relevant equipment. During the cooperation, ALL.SPACE's Hydra terminals obtained Category 4 certification for the Viasat Global Xpress network, enabling access to military Ka-band satellite communication services through its high-capacity steerable beams. This Hydra MAX procurement corresponds to the next-generation terminal product in the cooperation between the two parties.

Hydra MAX was officially launched in July 2026 and has reached Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL 6) in testing for the U.S. Army's Next Generation Tactical Terminal program. The device completed dual-link mobile communication verification between LEO and geostationary orbit satellites and between LEO and medium orbit satellites at Aberdeen Proving Ground, with testing covering conditions such as off-road vehicle driving, platform attitude changes, and dynamic beam tracking. In August 2026, Aalyria also ordered this model terminal from ALL.SPACE for deployment in a U.S. government hybrid communication architecture integrated with Spacetime network orchestration software.
