China and Norway Complete Discussions on More Than 30 Satellite Network Coordination Topics

en.Wedoany.com Reported - From September 21 to 23, the Radio Regulation Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Norwegian Communications Authority held the second inter-administration satellite network coordination meeting in Oslo, Norway. In accordance with the International Telecommunication Union's Radio Regulations, the two sides conducted consultations on more than 30 coordination topics concerning multiple satellite systems in high Earth orbit and low Earth orbit, and jointly signed the meeting minutes. The topics involved various services including fixed-satellite and mobile-satellite services, and covered multiple frequency bands such as L, S, C, X, Ku, Ka, and Q/V.

This meeting focused on the compatible sharing of frequency and orbital resources between the two countries' satellite networks. The two sides conducted item-by-item technical coordination on satellite networks at different orbital altitudes, of different service types, and in multiple frequency bands, and reached consensus on a number of topics. The meeting minutes formally recorded the results of this round of coordination, providing a basis for the continued international frequency coordination of the relevant satellite networks.

The Chinese delegation was composed of units including the Radio Regulation Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Radio Spectrum Management Center, the Beijing Institute of Tracking and Telecommunications Technology, China Satellite Network Group Co., Ltd., China Satcom Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yuanxin Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., and Tsinghua University, covering areas such as spectrum management, satellite operations, constellation construction, tracking, telemetry and command communications, and scientific research.

The Norwegian delegation was composed of units including the Norwegian Communications Authority, Space Norway, and SpaceX Norway. This round of talks covered both government authorities and satellite operation and communications enterprises, and the coordination targets involved traditional high Earth orbit satellite systems as well as low Earth orbit satellite networks under construction or in operation.

China and Norway had previously conducted inter-administration satellite network coordination. This second meeting continued to advance relevant technical consultations on frequency coordination under the ITU framework, and incorporated multiple frequency bands and service types into the same round of coordination procedures.
