Uzbekistan's $54 Million Textile Dyeing and Finishing Plant Commences Operations

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 21, the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan announced that the textile dyeing and finishing plant built by Sulton Tex Group in Karshi, Kashkadarya Region, has been put into operation. The project is located in the Kashkadarya Free Economic Zone, with a total investment of $54 million. It features fabric production and dyeing and finishing production lines with a designed annual capacity of 20,000 tons, creating 840 new jobs. The plant is also equipped with a $3 million circulating water treatment system, 3.5 MW photovoltaic facilities, and gas-fired power generation equipment.

The plant's closed-loop circulating water system represents an investment of $3 million and can treat and recycle more than 95% of the water used in the production process, with a designed annual water savings of 1.1 million cubic meters. The production facilities are also equipped with gas-fired generator sets, and solar photovoltaic modules with a total installed capacity of 3.5 MW are installed on the factory roof and exterior walls, providing energy supply for fabric manufacturing, dyeing and finishing, and supporting equipment across the plant.

The plant was built in accordance with Uzbekistan's economic development arrangements for Kashkadarya Region issued on March 13, 2026. On October 21, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the plant's production facilities and product display area, learning about the operation of fabric manufacturing, dyeing and finishing processes, and the water recycling system.

Sulton Tex Group also plans to implement a follow-up investment project of $70 million in the Kashkadarya Free Economic Zone, expected to create 3,570 new jobs. In addition, the company plans to advance production projects with a total investment of $17 million in other areas of the region, expected to add 1,220 jobs. The two follow-up investments total $87 million, corresponding to different construction sites, and are not included in the $54 million investment of the plant already in operation.
