en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 26, UK offshore engineering company Aquaterra Energy announced that it had completed Phase 1 of an offshore oil and gas platform for Nigerian oil and gas company Emadeb Energy, completing the design and fabrication of a subsea wellhead guide template over a period of 6 months. The platform adopts a jacket-supported structure, and the project is being implemented in phases, with installation of the main platform scheduled for completion by the end of 2026; the overall project is expected to take 15 months from design and fabrication through drilling and final installation.

The subsea template completed in Phase 1 will first be used for oil well drilling, allowing the construction team to carry out drilling operations while fabrication of the main platform structure continues. After drilling is completed, the subsequent platform structure will be installed above the completed wellheads. The entire platform is designed to accommodate production wellheads and to transport the produced oil and gas to a nearby mobile offshore production unit (MOPU) for processing and subsequent export.

The platform topsides adopt a simplified design, and Aquaterra Energy has also applied certain elements of its existing Sea Swift platform design to this project, reducing the engineering work required for redesign. The remaining platform structure is currently being fabricated at a local fabrication yard in Nigeria and will subsequently be integrated in line with the drilling and installation schedule. The company plans to carry out the Phase 2 installation work within 2026.
