Nefab Mexico's 7,000-square-meter packaging plant in Sweden put into operation

Located in the Sabinal Industrial Park, the plant has a building area of approximately 7,000 square meters and features a new ExPak foldable plywood industrial packaging production line, marking the first local manufacturing of this product series in Mexico. The new facility mainly produces transport packaging for heavy-duty, precision, and high-value equipment and is expected to create up to 100 jobs, covering production operations, engineering, and administrative management.

The new plant is equipped with an automated ExPak production line that uses materials such as plywood to manufacture foldable, nail-free industrial packaging boxes. The products mainly serve the automotive manufacturing, electronics, communications, and data center equipment industries, and packaging structures can be adjusted according to customers' equipment dimensions, weight, and transport requirements. The plant also has the manufacturing capability for other Nefab industrial packaging products, with production and engineering design teams developing customized products at the same site.

According to product performance data provided by Nefab, ExPak packaging boxes weigh up to 40% less than traditional wooden packaging and reduce packaging volume by approximately 15%. Folded boxes can be transported and stored in a flat state, reducing storage space requirements by approximately 60% compared with fully assembled boxes. This packaging series can also be reused depending on product and logistics conditions.

The Apodaca plant is located near the Huinalá industrial corridor and adjacent to the Apodaca airport area. The local engineering team will design packaging solutions based on customers' equipment protection, transport routes, and loading and unloading conditions, and can use Nefab's International Safe Transit Association (ISTA)-certified laboratory to test packaging structures under corresponding transport conditions.
