en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 27, energy technology company Baker Hughes secured an order from a major U.S. technology company for equipment supporting an artificial intelligence data center. The company will supply 43 gas turbines along with power generation and transmission equipment, providing approximately 1.1 gigawatts (GW) of power generation capacity, as well as Chart dry coolers. The power generation equipment order was booked in the third quarter of 2026, and the cooling equipment order was booked in the fourth quarter. The equipment will be used for high-density artificial intelligence computing infrastructure.

The power supply equipment includes 34 Frame 5 gas turbines, 9 NovaLT 16 gas turbines, as well as BRUSH Power Generation generators and associated gear transmission equipment. The two types of gas turbines total 43 units, forming a power generation equipment portfolio of approximately 1,100 megawatts, serving high-performance computing loads such as artificial intelligence model training, inference, and physical artificial intelligence.

The cooling equipment is supplied by Chart, a Baker Hughes company, and uses dry coolers integrated with a closed-loop cooling system for the data center. The system transfers heat generated by server operations through a circulating cooling medium and dissipates heat to the external environment using dry cooling equipment, providing thermal management capabilities for high-density computing equipment.

This order brings gas turbine power generation equipment, generator sets, transmission systems, and data center cooling equipment into a single project procurement scope. Among them, the Frame 5 and NovaLT 16 gas turbines handle power generation, BRUSH generators support power output, and Chart dry coolers serve computing equipment heat dissipation, corresponding respectively to the two infrastructure systems of data center power supply and thermal management.
