en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 28, Georgia-Pacific launched an approximately $150 million equipment upgrade project at its Palatka tissue paper mill in Florida, with a focus on rebuilding Paper Machine No. 4, which was installed in 1980. The machine primarily produces base paper for the Angel Soft brand of toilet paper. The project will upgrade papermaking technology and safety control systems, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.

The upgrade will be carried out at the existing mill, retaining tissue paper production operations and utilizing the site's existing pulp supply system, production infrastructure, and converting equipment. After the upgrade, Paper Machine No. 4 will continue to produce base paper for Angel Soft toilet paper. The scope of work includes production technology upgrades and equipment safety system updates.

The Palatka mill is located in Putnam County, Florida, and has pulp production, papermaking, and tissue converting facilities. It currently produces Angel Soft and Quilted Northern brand toilet paper, as well as Brawny and Sparkle brand paper towels. This investment is focused on upgrading the existing paper machine and does not involve a complete rebuild of all the aforementioned production lines.
