en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 29, Alibaba Cloud of China officially launched its first public cloud region in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with two supporting data centers simultaneously commencing service. The new region was officially opened at the inaugural Apsara Conference International held in Amsterdam, providing cloud computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure to European customers. The Netherlands becomes Alibaba Cloud's fourth public cloud region in Europe, following Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, with its global infrastructure network simultaneously expanding to 32 regions and 109 availability zones.

The new region has already made available elastic computing, storage, containers, networking, databases, big data, security, and cloud-native services. The two data centers handle the infrastructure deployment for the Netherlands region, allowing enterprises to choose to deploy business systems locally and process and store data within the Netherlands. The cloud region also provides business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities for local customers.

Alibaba Cloud plans to continue deploying enterprise-grade artificial intelligence agent products in the Netherlands region, including ACS Agent Sandbox, Agent Security Center, AI Security Guardrails 2.0, Agentic SOC, and STAROps. Among them, ACS Agent Sandbox adopts a hardware-level security isolation solution, Agent Security Center is responsible for agent security management, and STAROps provides intelligent operations and maintenance capabilities. These AI products are part of subsequent launch arrangements and are not among the services that were fully activated on October 29.

This launch also raises the number of overseas public cloud regions Alibaba Cloud added in 2026 to 4. Previously, new regions in Malaysia, France, and Brazil had already been activated, with a cumulative total of 12 new availability zones added overseas during the year. In the next phase, Alibaba Cloud plans to build its first public cloud region in Finland while expanding the deployment scale of its existing data centers in Germany and France.
