en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 29, KDDI Group and its UK data center operator Telehouse Europe completed the acquisition of the Inventory Estate property assets at East India Dock in eastern London, UK, for a transaction value exceeding £220 million (approximately US$294 million). The site is adjacent to Telehouse's existing London Docklands data center campus and has secured a 65 megavolt-ampere (MVA) power supply capacity. It is planned for the construction of a high-density data center supporting artificial intelligence computing.

The sellers in this transaction were LaSalle Investment Management and Trilogy Real Estate. The acquired property is located at East India Dock, London, near Telehouse's existing campus at 2 Clove Crescent. The site currently contains two office buildings with a total gross floor area of approximately 44,862 square meters, and planning permission has been obtained for a data center project of approximately 35,000 square meters.

The new data center is planned to feature high-density server colocation facilities, high-capacity low-latency network connectivity, and artificial intelligence computing infrastructure to support the deployment of high-performance graphics processing unit (GPU) servers. Telehouse will develop the site in phases using the secured 65 MVA power supply capacity and connect it to the existing London Docklands data center network facilities.

KDDI confirmed that Telehouse's existing London data centers have a total power supply capacity of approximately 77.6 MVA. With the addition of the 65 MVA power supply capacity secured for the acquired site, the Group's combined power supply capacity for operating and newly acquired sites in London will reach approximately 142.6 MVA, roughly 1.8 times the previous figure.

Telehouse's existing London Docklands campus is currently constructing the West Two data center, a project planned as a nine-story building expected to be completed in 2028. The acquired Inventory Estate will serve as the next phase of expansion land for the campus, and KDDI plans to proceed with the new data center construction following West Two.
