New Chinese Industry Standard for Planetary Gear Reducers for Concrete Mixer Trucks Begins Implementation

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 2, the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard "Planetary Gear Reducers for Concrete Mixer Trucks" (JB/T 12915-2026) entered the implementation phase, fully replacing the 2016 edition standard JB/T 12915-2016. The new standard is administered by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Speed Reducers. It applies to planetary gear reducers used in concrete mixer transport trucks and mixing equipment with similar performance, providing a unified technical basis for the design, manufacturing, performance inspection, and quality management of related products.

The new standard was issued on April 28, 2026. Its standard classification involves gears and gear transmissions, with the International Classification for Standards (ICS) number 21.200 and the Chinese Standard Classification number J17. The standard covers reducer model designations, structure, dimensions, parameters, and technical requirements, and specifies corresponding test methods, inspection rules, as well as requirements for product marking, packaging, transportation, and storage.

Planetary gear reducers are important components in the transmission system of concrete mixer transport trucks, responsible for transmitting power from the drive unit to the mixing drum and, through speed reduction and torque increase, meeting the operational requirements of the mixing drum during transportation, mixing, and discharging. The reducer is subjected to varying working loads over extended periods, and its transmission performance and operational reliability directly affect the operating condition of the mixing drum and equipment maintenance requirements.

The new standard incorporates product structure, main parameters, and technical requirements into a unified specification, and by specifying test methods and inspection rules, provides a basis for manufacturing enterprises to conduct product verification and factory inspection. Manufacturing enterprises can use the standard to verify product design documents, technical parameters, inspection procedures, and product identification, while equipment procurement enterprises can also reference the corresponding technical requirements in their purchasing and quality acceptance processes.

The revision of this standard was drafted with the participation of Xi'an Zhuoshibo Hydraulic Engineering Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Fast Auto Drive Group Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Zhonggong High-end Equipment Research Institute Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Sankai Electromechanical Co., Ltd., Ningbo Dongli Transmission Equipment Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Shuntian Transmission Technology Co., Ltd., involving reducer research and development, gear transmission equipment manufacturing, and related engineering technical institutions.

JB/T 12915-2016 was issued on October 22, 2016, and implemented from April 1, 2017. With the implementation of the new standard, the original version is fully replaced, and the standard basis for related products transitions from the 2016 edition to the 2026 edition. This change constitutes an updated implementation of an existing industry product standard and is not the release of a new reducer product or the commissioning of a production line.
