en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 4, offshore wind installation company Cadeler signed a formal contract with the developer of the UK's Dogger Bank offshore wind project to provide an additional wind turbine transport and installation vessel for the 1.2 GW Dogger Bank C phase. Under the contract, Cadeler will deploy the newbuild jack-up wind installation vessel "Wind Apex" to transport and install 87 offshore wind turbines, with mobilization planned for the third quarter of 2027.

Dogger Bank C is located approximately 130 kilometers off the northeast coast of England. The project developer is adding a second turbine installation vessel, with "Wind Apex" working alongside the existing installation vessel to carry out turbine installation operations. The vessel may also be redeployed to other construction areas of Dogger Bank as construction needs require.

"Wind Apex" is the third A-class offshore wind installation vessel built by Cadeler, following "Wind Ally" and "Wind Ace." The vessel is equipped with a large-load deck and a heavy-lift system, with a designed deck area of approximately 5,600 square meters and a load capacity of more than 17,000 tonnes, enabling it to handle the transport and installation of large offshore wind foundations and turbine components.

"Wind Apex" held its launching ceremony on October 26, 2026, and is scheduled for delivery in 2027, entering turbine installation operations at Dogger Bank C in the third quarter of that year. Dogger Bank C is planned to install 87 14 MW-class offshore wind turbines; the turbine foundations and offshore substations were completed in 2025.
