Wedoany.com Report-Jul. 24, The Hong Kong government has chosen a joint venture between Aecom and AtkinsRéalis to design and construct a 7.3km section of the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Western Rail Link. This segment will connect Hung Shui Kiu in Hong Kong to the Qianhai special economic zone in Shenzhen, forming part of an 18.1km railway that includes a 10.8km section in Shenzhen.

Once completed, the rail link will enable a 15-minute journey between the two locations, fostering efficient cross-boundary travel. The project aims to support the creation of a “one-hour living circle” within the Greater Bay Area, enhancing regional connectivity and accessibility.

The joint venture will leverage its expertise to deliver a high-quality infrastructure project. Aecom and AtkinsRéalis bring extensive experience from previous regional initiatives, ensuring the rail link meets rigorous technical and operational standards.
