Wedoany.com Report-Jul. 27, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has successfully installed the rotor for Unit No. 1 of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project, marking a significant milestone in the initiative. The achievement, advances the project toward its goal of enhancing Vietnam’s renewable energy capacity.

The rotor, a critical rotating component of the generator weighing approximately 585 tonnes, was installed with precise coordination among construction, supervision, and electromechanical teams. EVN described the process as a vital step in the turbine-generator assembly sequence, requiring meticulous synchronization to ensure operational success.

“This is a pivotal step in the sequence of turbine-generator assembly procedures, requiring synchronised and precise coordination amongst construction, supervision, and electromechanical installation units,” an EVN spokesperson stated.

The successful installation paves the way for further electromechanical work, testing, and commissioning of Unit No. 1. These steps are essential to enable the unit to generate electricity, contributing to the expansion project’s objective of increasing the plant’s power output.
