On June 18th, the "Mexico Trade and Investment Opportunities Forum & Durango State Promotional Seminar" was successfully held in Beijing. Santiago Toledo,Trade and Investment Counsellor of Embassy of Mexico in China and Jiang Yun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the China Overseas Development Association (CODA), and others attended and delivered speeches. David Trujillo, Trade and Investment Officer of the Embassy of Mexico in China; Arturo Ortiz Galan, Chairman of the investment office of the Durango State; Victor Cadena, Vice President of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MEXCHAM); and Jason Sun, President of Sun Industry Corporation, delivered thematic presentations.

This event was co-hosted by CODA, the Embassy of Mexico in China, and the MEXCHAM, aimed to help Chinese enterprises in sectors such as automotive parts, new energy, and biomedicine understand Mexico's investment policies, market resources, as well as Durango State's locational advantages and key industries. The event sought to establish a platform for investment exchange with Mexico, create business opportunities, and promote the implementation of more practical cooperation outcomes.

Santiago Toledo stated that Mexico maintains sound economic fundamentals, with its strategic location and demographic dividend becoming increasingly evident. He highlighted the fruitful results of Mexico-China economic and trade cooperation, noting that bilateral trade has surpassed US$100 billion and investment continues to deepen. He expressed hope that this event would serve as an opportunity to further expand cooperation with CODA and jointly advance bilateral economic and trade relations to a deeper level.

Jiang Yun emphasized in his speech that, amid the new situation of "reciprocal tariffs" and rising unilateralism, China and Mexico should join hands to jointly address the uncertainties of the world economy. Faced with the accelerated restructuring of global industrial and supply chains, Mexico's pivotal position and open policies are attracting more Chinese enterprises to invest there. He noted that Mexico will be the Guest Country of Honor at the "15th China Overseas Investment Fair (COIFAIR)". CODA warmly welcomes this and hopes to leverage the COIFAIR platform to boost mutual trade and investment cooperation between China and Mexico for win-win development.

David Trujillo introduced Mexico's advantages in attracting foreign investment, covering aspects like geographical location, infrastructure, incentive policies, and support services. Arturo Ortiz Galan discussed Durango State's core strengths, including its locational value, industrial competitiveness, and investment security. Victor Cadena introduced the functions of MEXCHAM, expressing the desire to provide policy consultation, resource matching, and localization services for enterprises from both countries. Based on his investment experience in Mexico, Jason Sun shared insights on Durango State's fiscal policies, supply chain systems, and labor costs, offering concrete suggestions for Chinese enterprises planning to invest in Mexico.

Nearly 100 representatives from fields such as automotive and parts, new energy, biomedicine, equipment manufacturing, and infrastructure attended the event in person, while over 350 participants joined online.
