Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 3, TotalEnergies ENEOS has successfully commissioned a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) project with a capacity of 680 kilowatt-peak in Malaysia. The project was developed in collaboration with TechnipFMC and is governed by an 18-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
According to a statement from TotalEnergies ENEOS, the solar system consists of over 1,100 solar modules and is expected to generate approximately 915 megawatt-hours of renewable electricity each year. This output will cover around 20% of the facility’s total energy consumption and is projected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 500 tonnes annually.
Under the terms of the agreement, TotalEnergies ENEOS will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the solar facility throughout the duration of the PPA. TechnipFMC will purchase all electricity produced by the system during this period.
The project supports local efforts to increase the use of renewable energy and contributes to broader sustainability goals by reducing reliance on conventional power sources. It also demonstrates the potential for commercial and industrial facilities in Malaysia to integrate solar energy solutions efficiently.
This initiative forms part of TotalEnergies ENEOS’s ongoing strategy to provide low-carbon energy solutions across Asia, focusing on long-term partnerships with industrial clients. The company aims to expand its distributed solar portfolio while helping clients lower their carbon footprints through reliable and cost-effective clean energy.
By implementing rooftop solar power, TechnipFMC gains greater energy efficiency and environmental benefits without the need for upfront capital investment. The model allows for stable energy pricing over the long term and aligns with global trends toward carbon reduction and clean power transition.
The project highlights how collaborative energy agreements can facilitate renewable deployment while delivering economic and environmental value to both providers and consumers.
