Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 13, Twelve agricultural vocational schools across Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions have received modern farming machinery from Japan as part of the second phase of the “Urgent Improvement of Equipment for Providing Educational Services” grant program, according to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Each institution was equipped with a tractor, plough, disc harrow, cultivator, and seeder, provided through support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The equipment aims to enhance the training of agricultural specialists by providing access to advanced technology, improving practical education in farming techniques.
By March 2026, these vocational schools, including agricultural lyceums and colleges, will also receive laptops, interactive panels, and desktop computers for IT classrooms. This initiative seeks to strengthen educational quality and ensure students gain skills using modern tools, preparing them for careers in agriculture.
Japan’s ongoing support for Ukrainian education, which began during the conflict, includes investments in restoring educational facilities, developing digital infrastructure, and enhancing professional skills training. Previous phases of the grant program have supplied equipment for digital education centers and practical training laboratories, including those focused on agriculture.
The provision of modern machinery and upcoming IT resources reflects a commitment to advancing Ukraine’s agricultural education. By equipping vocational institutions with cutting-edge tools, the program supports the development of skilled professionals, contributing to the sustainability and modernization of the agricultural sector in Ukraine.
