Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 21, Singapore-based Ocean Network Express (ONE) has taken delivery of the One Sincerity, a 13,900 TEU container vessel, from Imabari Shipbuilding’s Hiroshima Shipyard in Japan on August 12, 2025. The Singapore-flagged ship, classified by Lloyd’s Register, measures 335.94 meters in length, 51 meters in width, 30.1 meters in depth, and has a gross tonnage of 140,233.

Designed for future adaptability, One Sincerity is equipped for potential conversion to methanol and ammonia fuels. It has also received approval in principle from Lloyd’s Register for a carbon capture system. Imabari Shipbuilding representatives stated: “One Sincerity was designed for future conversion to operate while running on methanol and ammonia,” highlighting its forward-looking environmental features.

To meet sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide emission standards, the vessel includes a hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system and an exhaust gas recirculation solution. Additional sustainability measures include a ballast water treatment system, compliance with the Hong Kong Convention’s Inventory of Hazardous Materials for safe ship recycling, and energy-saving features like a twisted rudder and low-friction hull coating. These enhancements are expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by at least 60%.

One Sincerity is part of a series of eco-friendly vessels delivered to ONE. In June 2025, Imabari Shipbuilding handed over the One Singapore, another 13,900 TEU ammonia- and methanol-ready vessel, followed by the One Sapphire with similar specifications. Earlier, in February 2025, ONE celebrated the naming of the One Sparkle, its first owned ammonia- and methanol-ready vessel, built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea.

An ONE spokesperson noted: “Our latest addition to the roster reflects our commitment to sustainable maritime transport, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while meeting global shipping demands.” The company’s focus on advanced vessel designs supports the maritime industry’s shift toward cleaner fuels and reduced emissions.

The delivery of One Sincerity strengthens ONE’s fleet, enhancing its capacity to serve global trade routes with sustainable solutions. By integrating innovative technologies, ONE and Imabari Shipbuilding contribute to the maritime sector’s efforts to minimize environmental impact while maintaining operational efficiency.
