Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 9, Kenorland Minerals has launched the phase-two diamond drilling programme at its South Uchi Project, located in Ontario’s Red Lake District, Canada. The project is held under an option agreement with Auranova Resources. The fall 2025 exploration campaign, running from September to November and approved by Auranova, will include up to 6,000m of drilling in about 13 holes within the Papaonga target area.
The goal of the second phase drill programme is to further investigate the recently discovered gold-bearing structural corridors.
This second phase builds on the positive results from the initial drilling programme completed earlier in 2025. It aims to further define newly identified gold-bearing structural corridors and to explore additional structures that may lie beneath deep overburden. The ongoing work includes closer-spaced drilling around hole 25PADD023, where mineralised shear zones with visible gold were intersected. These follow-up holes are designed to better understand the geometry and continuity of mineralisation within this corridor.
In addition, Kenorland is conducting wider-spaced step-outs along the east-west deformation zone between holes 25PADD016 and 25PADD023 to test possible lateral extensions of gold-bearing structures. The programme also includes initial drill testing northeast of hole 25PADD023, targeting areas under deeper overburden where no previous drilling has taken place. These efforts are focused on refining the definition of the high-grade zone discovered at 25PADD023 and extending exploration into untested parts of the deformation corridor.
Kenorland CEO and president Zach Flood said: “We are excited to return to South Uchi following a very successful maiden drill programme earlier this year. The initial campaign confirmed widespread gold mineralisation in bedrock across multiple kilometres of strike. Among the most compelling results was along the eastern extent of the target area, where drilling intersected a strongly mineralised and altered shear zone hosting multiple generations of veining, sulphidation and visible gold – hallmarks of a robust orogenic gold system. The current drill programme will step out from this discovery as well as test additional targets concealed beneath thick overburden.”
The South Uchi Project, originally discovered and staked by Kenorland, is centered on the potential of this under-explored region to host large-scale gold mineralisation systems. Through this phase-two campaign, the company aims to build a clearer understanding of the region’s structural geology and resource potential.
Kenorland Minerals is a mineral exploration company engaged in project generation and early-stage exploration throughout North America. In 2022, the company sold to Targa Exploration the rights and 100% interest in 844 mining claims comprising the Opinaca Lithium Project, located in the James Bay region of northern Quebec.
