Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 2, China’s Envision Energy unveiled its latest battery energy storage system (BESS) innovation at its Tech Day event in Beijing, introducing a comprehensive portfolio of modular configurations under the Gen 8 Scalable Platform.

The Gen 8 platform builds on the skid-based modular design of Generation 6, offering greater on-site flexibility and reducing balance-of-plant (BoP) work, which simplifies installation and operational efficiency. It also incorporates energy density improvements introduced in Generation 7’s 5 MWh container by integrating a new 750+ Ah cell, enabling higher storage capacity within the same footprint.

Envision highlighted that the modular approach allows clients to customize energy storage deployments to meet different site requirements, ranging from small-scale commercial applications to large utility-scale projects. The design supports rapid scalability, enabling incremental capacity expansion without major site disruptions.

The company emphasized that the Gen 8 system enhances safety, reliability, and efficiency. Advanced thermal management, real-time monitoring, and intelligent control systems are integrated into the platform, optimizing performance while reducing operational risks.

The new platform is designed to complement renewable energy integration, providing stable, dispatchable power to manage fluctuations in solar and wind generation. By storing surplus energy and releasing it during peak demand periods, the Gen 8 BESS supports grid stability and helps reduce reliance on fossil fuel peaking plants.

Envision Energy also highlighted the system’s streamlined installation process. Pre-configured modular units can be deployed quickly, reducing construction time and associated costs, while minimizing the need for extensive civil and electrical work at the site.

The Gen 8 Scalable Platform is expected to accelerate the adoption of energy storage in China and international markets, aligning with global efforts to enhance renewable energy integration, improve energy efficiency, and decarbonize power systems.
