Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 3, France-based Exide Technologies has unveiled a new energy storage solution designed for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications. The system, named Solition Mega Five, offers a storage capacity of 5 MWh and is housed in a standard 20-foot container. It utilizes 625 Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells and delivers a round-trip efficiency of up to 95%, making it suitable for a wide range of energy management and grid-support applications.

The Solition Mega Five system measures 6,058 mm × 2,438 mm × 2,896 mm and weighs 45 tons. Its compact, containerized design allows for flexible deployment in both urban and remote locations. The system features integrated liquid cooling and heating to ensure reliable performance across a broad operating temperature range from –30 °C to 55 °C, supporting stable operation in diverse climates.

The high-capacity energy storage solution is aimed at meeting increasing demand for reliable, efficient, and scalable energy storage in commercial and industrial settings. It can be used to optimize energy consumption, reduce peak demand charges, store renewable energy, and provide backup power for critical operations. At utility scale, the system is designed to support grid stability, frequency regulation, and peak shaving.

Exide Technologies highlighted that the Solition Mega Five combines safety, durability, and high performance, benefiting from the inherent stability of LFP chemistry and advanced thermal management systems. The system’s modular design allows for easier transport, installation, and integration into existing energy infrastructures.

By deploying high-capacity storage solutions like Solition Mega Five, organizations can enhance energy efficiency, support renewable integration, and improve resilience against power disruptions. Its high round-trip efficiency ensures minimal energy loss during storage cycles, which is critical for both economic and environmental performance.

Overall, the Solition Mega Five represents a step forward in Exide Technologies’ commitment to providing versatile and reliable energy storage solutions. Its robust design, high efficiency, and wide operational temperature range make it suitable for diverse applications across commercial, industrial, and utility sectors, supporting the growing transition toward sustainable energy systems globally.
