Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 3, On November 3, 2025, Geely Holding Group and Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (collectively “Geely”) signed a final strategic cooperation agreement with Renault Group to expand their partnership in Brazil. Under the agreement, both companies will jointly produce and sell new energy vehicles (NEVs) through Renault do Brasil, Renault’s local subsidiary.

As part of the deal, Geely will acquire a 26.4% stake in Renault do Brasil, while Renault Group will remain the majority shareholder and continue to consolidate the subsidiary’s financial results. The partnership allows Geely to utilize Renault’s manufacturing facilities and extensive dealer network across Brazil, providing a strong foundation for its growth in Latin America. Renault do Brasil will also serve as Geely’s distributor for NEV models nationwide, including the EX5 electric SUV, offering opportunities in vehicle sales, financing, and after-sales services.

The collaboration will enable Renault to enhance its product lineup by integrating Geely’s advanced electrification technologies, helping meet Brazil’s growing demand for electric vehicles. Production will take place at Renault’s Ayrton Senna Industrial Complex in southern Brazil, where both Renault and Geely vehicles will be assembled. This arrangement is expected to improve production efficiency and strengthen the plant’s competitiveness in the region.

François Provost, CEO of Renault Group, described the agreement as “a decisive step forward” in Renault’s international strategy. He said: “This partnership, built on complementary industrial strengths and technological expertise, creates a highly flexible and efficient cooperation model. By joining forces, we can enhance our competitiveness, innovation, and agility in a rapidly evolving global market.”

Eric Li (Li Shufu), Chairman of Geely Holding Group, called the deal another major milestone in the ongoing strategic alliance between the two companies, following their joint venture in South Korea and the establishment of Horse Powertrain Limited, a global powertrain company. Li said: “Together, Geely and Renault will continue to explore new markets and opportunities through cross-continental cooperation and strategic synergy. Our goal is to achieve scale efficiency and bring the best products, optimized costs, and high-quality services to customers worldwide, creating an exceptional ownership experience.”

The partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to electrification and international expansion. By combining Geely’s electrification expertise with Renault’s local market presence, the agreement aims to accelerate NEV adoption in Brazil and strengthen both brands’ competitiveness in the Latin American automotive market.

Overall, the deal positions Geely and Renault to leverage complementary strengths in manufacturing, technology, and distribution, supporting growth in production capacity, vehicle sales, and customer services. It marks a significant step in the broader strategy of cross-continental collaboration and sustainable mobility development.
