Wedoany.com Report-Dec.18, Vietnam Airlines and SATS have formalized a strategic partnership agreement in Hanoi, aimed at enhancing aviation services and promoting logistics growth. This development extends their prior memorandum of understanding regarding potential cargo terminal projects in Vietnam, including at Long Thanh International Airport.

SATS has served as a key international collaborator for Vietnam Airlines, providing ground handling and cargo services at significant airports within the airline's network. These locations include Singapore (SIN), Bangkok (BKK), Bangalore (BLR), Hyderabad (HYD), Delhi (DEL), Hong Kong (HKG), London (LHR), and Paris (CDG). Their joint venture, Tan Son Nhat Cargo Services (TCS), combines efforts from both entities and functions as the primary cargo handling unit for Vietnam Airlines, managing ground operations and logistics.

With operations spanning 27 countries and a reputation for reliable service, SATS plays an essential role in supporting Vietnam Airlines' global activities.

The new agreement designates each company as a preferred partner for ground handling and cargo services across their respective networks. SATS will offer expanded operational assistance, while Vietnam Airlines will provide reciprocal advantages in appropriate markets to foster closer coordination and higher service standards. Additionally, the partners will investigate opportunities for future joint ventures, such as establishing a new cargo terminal in Vietnam.

Lê Hồng Hà, President and CEO of Vietnam Airlines emphasized: "The cooperation between Vietnam Airlines and SATS marks a pivotal step in our ongoing commitment to elevate service excellence, optimize operational costs, and reinforce our international operating capabilities. We strongly believe that SATS' partnership will bring tangible value to our customers and fuel Vietnam Airlines' long-term growth."

Kerry Mok, President and CEO at SATS Ltd says: "This partnership reflects our shared commitment to operational excellence and customer-focused solutions. Building on more than three decades of trusted partnership, we are deepening our collaboration to drive innovation and infrastructure development that support the evolving needs of our customers and Vietnam's growing aviation industry."

The collaboration extends beyond core handling services to include advancements in aviation logistics chains and process improvements. By aligning with international best practices and leveraging SATS' technical knowledge, Vietnam Airlines can improve passenger and cargo experiences while strengthening its position in competitive markets.

The agreement also opens pathways for shared exploration of new technologies, promoting greater efficiency and sustainable practices. Implementation of the outlined initiatives will commence promptly, ensuring effective delivery and lasting advantages for both organizations.
